On this Veterans Day, WLAF thanks you for all your service

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- There are many veterans who have served or are currently serving their country, and they also serve their local police force, the La Follette Police Department.

Jacob Brown

Officer Brown joined the La Follette Police Force in July 2024. He is actively serving in the U-S Army with Unit 1-1171 Medevac based at McGhee Tyson. A 2023 graduate of Cumberland Gap High School, Brown went straight to the Army upon graduation.

Robby Cobb

K-9 Officer Cobb has worked with K-9 Goose for the La Follette Police Department since March. Though Cobb grew up in Speedwell and graduated Cumberland Gap High in 2010, he has spent some time away from Tennessee. Cobb went west to college at BYU and joined the Idaho National Guard in 2016. “I wanted to be a cop, and thought the National Guard would be a good first step,” said Cobb. He served as an infantryman and cop until 2021 and moved back to Tennessee in 2022.

Justin Parrott

Officer Parrott has served with La Follette Police since 2010 and has extensive military experience. He grew up in the valley in La Follette and graduated Campbell County High School in 2008. From high school, he earned his bachelor’s degree and then master’s degree from Bethel University at McKenzie, Tennessee. He graduated from the police academy and then joined the military. Parrott served in a couple of different theatres, Freedom Sentinel and Inherent Resolve in southwest Asia. He is an active member of the United State Air Force 134th Security Squadron based at McGhee Tyson.

Clinton Hutchinson

Patrolman Hutchinson moved to La Follette at age 15, graduated from Campbell County High School in 2013 and left for the Army in 2014. Hutchinson was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with the 82nd Airborne Division. There, he was with the 2nd Battalion 501 Parachute Infantry Regiment which originally was the 101, Geronimo, Airborne Unit. He’s been with LPD for the past five months.

Officer Figueroa recently joined the La Follette Police Force in September. “Ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted to be a policeman and be in the military,” said Figueroa. He grew up at Speedwell and is a 2023 graduate of Cumberland Gap High School. Figueroa is an active member of the 278th Armored Cavalry Battalion of the National Guard based at Newport.
