Interim director of schools, permanent DOS search, JES Gym project to be discussed

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Board of Education announces a special called meeting for Monday, November 3, at 6pm, in the lower level courtroom of the courthouse at Jacksboro.
One of the purposes of the meeting is to discuss and take any necessary action regarding the appointment of the interim director of schools effective January 1, 2026, until a permanent director of schools is named. Six educators have applied for the interim post, and you can see their names and qualifications further down this page.
Those applying for the interim director of schools opening are Evan Hunt, a head of school, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Schyler Ivey of Caryville who is currently teaching Kindergarten at Jacksboro Elementary School, and Jerry Kidd a part-time substitute teacher in the Campbell County School System. Kidd lives in La Follette. Nancy Lay of Pioneer, the principal at Elk Valley STEM School, is also an applicant along with John Stern of Reno, Nevada, a former principal, and Arthur Wright, a semi-retired school administrator from Stearns, Kentucky.
