Highway 63, The General Carl Stiner Highway, was completely shutdown right before 5pm Sunday

This truck veered off Middlesboro Road a little before 5pm Sunday.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Late Sunday afternoon, a pick-up truck ran off Middlesboro Road near the corner of Davis Chapel Road striking a tree as it headed down an embankment, according to officials.

The accident happened about a hundred yards east of Davis Chapel Road.

The four occupants were all injured, two people were said to have been thrown from the bed of the truck, and two others were said to be trapped inside the cab. A Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy transported a child to the La Follette Medical Center in his cruiser. The three other patients are being flown out.

Traffic was routed off Highway 63, The General Carl Stiner Highway, in each direction.

There were traffic jams in each direction late Sunday afteroon.
East and west bound traffic was diverted.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident that was called in to Central Dispatch at 4:52pm.
