Incident happened in the predawn hours of Friday

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – The pursuit of a 2014 Honda Civic by Caryville Police that began around 3am Friday was short lived.

The Civic, allegedly speeding, caught the attention of Officer Cody Fox. That was near the Loop and Elkins Road intersection, and a pursuit ensued. Within in minutes the Honda “wrecked out,” according to Fox. The Honda allegedly wrecked into another car near the Loop Road apartments at Caryville.

A 28-year- old Jacksboro man was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered during the arrest process, according to Fox By 3:37am, the suspect was placed under arrest and headed to the Campbell County Jail.

Charges pending against the suspect include speeding, felony evading, reckless driving, DUI and possession of a weapon while intoxicated, based on jail records. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/24/2024-6AM)
