LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – LaFollette Police Officer Austin Tindell recently responded to Big Lots for a shoplifting report. When he arrived, he spoke with the store manager who stated that she just wanted the individuals trespassed. Sgt. Shane Tielman made contact with a male suspect while Tindell talked with the female suspect on Fri., Sep. 29.

Officer Tindell asked her if she was with the man, and she stated that she was with him in Big Lots and that she knew what she had done was wrong. Tindell asked her for her name, and she gave him a fake name, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.

Tindell contacted dispatch for a warrant check on the female and trespass her from the store. Dispatch reported to Tindell that they could not locate the female by the name given. Sgt. Tielman contacted Tindell by radio and gave him the female’s correct name. The female was asked if her name was Amy, and she replied that is was and she was sorry she had lied. A second warrant check revealed she had a warrant in Campbell County.

The female identified as Amy Green was arrested and transported to the jail. Upon arrival Tindell searched Green’s black bag and found a pipe with residue inside of it.

Green, 33, 750 Old Long Hollow, LaFollette was charged with theft of merchandise-shoplifting, criminal impersonation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
