Shirley Wanda Turner, age 80, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her home in Morganton, GA. Shirley was born January 9, 1944, in Lafollette, TN to Horace and Daisy Louise Lee.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father Horace Lee; mother Daisy Louise Green; and grandchild Brittany Harmon; and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her husband Larry Turner; daughters Stacy and Selena; son Randy; her 3 siblings; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was a member of Confidence Community Church.

Shirley had a passion for animals, painting, music, dancing, hiking, camping, the beach, shopping, but most of all was her love for God, family and her two fur babies (Lucy and Dixie).

She loved singing in the choir and practicing the songs with her husband each week before the coming Sunday. She also loved everything associated with the water. Her children fondly remember her playing with them in lakes and pools, letting them jump off her shoulders and laughing for hours. Then her husband, Larry, introduced her to a new level of water life. Enjoying boating, sailing, and diving. She jumped right into her husbands water ventures by getting her diving certification and then them getting their own pontoon, sail boat, and scuba gear. We can remember her now, like so many times before, floating down the Florida Springs with dozens of manatees, seaweed, and all kinds of sea creatures.

We were amazed how she learned to play the piano and speak conversational Spanish later in her years. n our eyes, the woman could do anything. Her boldness, uniqueness, courage, and empathy taught us all to be better people. She will be with us always.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Michael Turner, Brandon Donner, Ryan Youngblood, Chase Youngblood, Kevin Youngblood, and David Beverly, Nathan Turner, and Noah Turner.

The family will receive friends at Confidence Community Church, 97 Confidence Community Church Road, Blairsville GA, on Friday, December 27th from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Bob Biberstein officiating. Music will be provided by Carolyn Fyler.
