JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Two adults have pleaded guilty for their roles in a series of overdoses from May 2023.

Jake Allen Sharp and Rebekah Lynn Sharp were charged with multiple counts of attempted aggravated child abuse or neglect after police discovered a cache of narcotics at their LaFollette home.

Law enforcement was originally called to the home after a 911 call was made reporting a juvenile had overdosed.

When police arrived, they learned a juvenile and an adult male had overdosed, according to reports from LaFollette Police.

On June 24, both pleaded guilty to three counts each of attempted aggravated child abuse or neglect. They were sentenced to two days split confinement and four years probation. The probation is accompanied by a four year judicial diversion.

The couple was also ordered to complete parenting classes and have no contact with their co-defendant Christopher Weiss. Contact with minors will be determined by juvenile court, court records said.

Weiss was also charged in the incident. He faces multiple counts of possession of a variety of scheduled drugs and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His case hasn’t been resolved yet.
