NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- State Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) was honored on Thursday, September 4, with the Pillars of Hope Award from the 15th Judicial District Child Advocacy Center, recognizing his dedicated service to children and families across Tennessee.
“I am truly honored and humbled to receive the Pillars of Hope award,” said Senator Yager. “Child Advocacy Centers across Tennessee do heroic work every single day, giving a voice to the voiceless and providing safety, healing, and hope to children in their most vulnerable moments. It’s a privilege to support their mission. As leaders, there is no higher responsibility than protecting our children and ensuring a safer, brighter future for the next generation.”
“The Child Advocacy Center of Macon, Jackson, Trousdale, Smith, and Wilson counties is proud to present the Pillar of Hope Award to Senator Ken Yager,” said District Attorney General Jason Lawson. “Senator Yager has been a tireless advocate for improving the lives of children in our district. His unwavering support, including legislation like the Savannah Grace Copeland Act, has secured vital funding for Child Advocacy Centers, helping young victims heal and minimizing trauma throughout the investigative and legal process.”
Presented annually, the Pillars of Hope Award honors individuals who act as steadfast pillars in their community, mirroring the strength and support symbolized by the four pillars on the front porch of the Center.
Senator Yager was specifically recognized for his co-sponsorship of the Savannah Grace Copeland Act, legislation that has strengthened and expanded funding for Child Advocacy Centers statewide. The act has had a direct impact on the ability of centers like the 15th Judicial District Child Advocacy Center to continue their critical mission.
