LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- We’ve all had that teacher who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute one of our hard working educators with a weekly feature. Teachers make a difference in their students lives each and every day. For many students, having a teacher who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation.

This week’s featured teacher is Savanna Smith. She is in her second year of teaching and teaches Kindergarten at LaFollette Elementary School.

Smith is 24 years old and was born and raised in Harlan County, Kentucky. She graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in December of 2023 with her Bachelors in Elementary Education.

Savanna Smith is Eagle Tire Pros Teacher of the Week! She teaches Kindergarten at LaFollette Elementary School.

“I moved to Tennessee after graduation to pursue my teaching career where I landed my first teaching job in Campbell County in January of 2024,” Smith said.

During her free time, she enjoys “shopping, cheering on the Kentucky wildcats, and spending time with her family and fiancé.”

“I teach kindergarten at LaFollette Elementary School. I chose to teach because children have always held a special place in my heart, and I believe education is extremely important. I also have a passion for learning,” Smith said.

Her favorite part about teaching is “creating relationships with students and watching them learn and grow.”

Smith said another favorite part of her job is her co-workers.

“I am extremely blessed to be a part of an amazing faculty and kindergarten team at LaFollette Elementary!”
