LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- LISTEN HERE for the fun of Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 The 70s as it trips back to September 29, 1979, Saturday at 7 pm over WLAF radio. The fun three hours of memories are brought to you by Maynard’s Auto Parts and State Representative Dennis Powers.

The Knack had its first hit with My Sherona while Herb Alpert played Rise. Elsewhere, Electric Light Orchestra had a smash with Don’t Bring Me Down and so did Nick Lowe with Cruel To Be Kind. In addition to these songs, you’ll hear the nation’s other top 36 songs over WLAF just like they all played here on the old radio station in 1975.

American Top 40, The 70s airs Saturday nights at 7:00 o’clock over WLAF’s FM 100.9 and AM 1450 and is brought to you by Maynard’s Wrecker Service & Auto Parts and State Representative Dennis Powers.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/27/2025-6AM)
