Sam was man of great faith and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved sharing his faith and the Word with others and gifting Bibles. He adored his faithful dog, Buddy, who brought comfort and companionship and was always beside him. Sam was a man of many passions, talents, and vocations, working as a tree trimmer, lineman, and meter reader, factory worker, and later owning Bowman’s Professional Cleaning Services. Beyond the professional realm, Sam also dedicated years of his life to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, teaching them to ride bikes, taking them into nature, and doing anything else to enrich and fill their lives. He also enjoyed immersing himself in reading, word puzzles, and activities that sparked his inquisitive mind and kept him sharp. Sam also found happiness in the laughter shared over meals at Sidelines, where he and his wife often spent time with family.
Sam, a man of honor and a Vietnam Marine Corps Veteran, dedicated years of his life serving his country, ultimately obtaining the rank of Lance Corporal. This unwavering commitment to service illuminated his character and relationship with the community as a proud member of the Campbell County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday February 8, 2026 at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 3:30 PM at Jacksboro Cemetery with Rev. Bo Freeman officiating and military honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
