LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Co-owner of Seven Loaves Kitchen Leslie Minor guest spoke at Rotary on Tuesday at the LaFollette Methodist Church.Â
Minor spoke about her business Seven Loaves Kitchen that she runs with her business partner and daughter in law Julia Minor. The restaurant is set to open in downtown LaFollette in the former Bowman Jewelry building after the first of the year.
Leslie Minor is a native of Michigan, with Campbell County roots.
“My parents are from down here, so I spent summers down here, and it was always my dream to live here,†Minor said.
She and her family moved down here with their food truck several years ago and intended to just run that, but “God placed it on their heart to open a restaurant.â€
She said she and her husband would drive through the downtown areas and dreamed about what the old buildings in LaFollette could be, so when they decided to open up a restaurant,†downtown LaFollette was their place of choice.â€
“The Bowman’s are so wonderful, they even held the building for us for five months, so we just signed the lease, over a year ago, it’s been a journey to get this far, but we have a passion for the city and the community,†Minor said.
Her main “passion is to do whole foods made from scratch†and they “try to locally source as much as possible,” Minor said.
“We want to feed people food that is going to make them feel great, where people can just sit down and talk and not feel rushed. We plan to have a full restaurant serving lunch and dinner Wednesday through Friday 11am to 8 pm and Saturday 8 am to 3 pm. The restaurant will also have a full bakery, along with pre-made sandwiches for lunch, but also sit-down options. They will have a full menu of sit-down dinner options and in summer will have cafe-style seating outside as well.
“We want to help this downtown area grow and help pull that revenue back to downtown LaFollette and to increase downtown choices and diversify the downtown options of restaurants,†Minor said, adding that the restaurant was close to opening and should be ready after the first of the new year.
