Early Wednesday morning fire next to a home

This home was saved from fire suffering only minimal damage.

ROCKY TOP, TN (WLAF)- It was a very tense scene for a while as firefighters battled an early morning fire on Wednesday. They were able to save a home next door to the blaze. It was 1:30am when the alarm came in to Central Dispatch of a structure fire on Oak Grove Road near Norris Freeway.

A carport next door to a home was full of contents.

It was at 3009 Oak Grove Road where a building close to a home caught fire. “When we arrived, a storage building was fully involved. An open canopy carport was also on fire. Both were full of contents. Even the outer area of woods was on fire,” said Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Chief Dylan Roach.

The fire call came in at 1:30am Wednesday.

“The biggest take away from this is that no one was injured, and we were able to keep the home safe with minimal damage,” said the chief.

A wooded area also burned.

Caryville and Andersonville Volunteer Fire Departments provided mutual aid. The Campbell Sheriff’s Department also responded. All agencies cleared the scene by 4am Wednesday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/17/2025-6AM-PHOTOS SUBMITTED)
