Rev. Billy “Bill” Joe Raines, age 86, of Jacksboro, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was retired after 41 years as an insurance agent. He was an ordained Baptist minister for 45 years and a U.S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by Wife: Sondra Gross Raines, Parents: Albert and Ethel Smith Raines, Sister: Mary Walther and Brother: Jim Rains.

Daughters: Mimi Meeks and husband Mitchell.

Sons: Damon and Patti Raines, Ben and Sandy Raines, Bo and Wendi Raines

Grandchildren: Jarrod and Chasitie Meeks and Victoria Meeks, Amanda and Daniel Travis, Jake and Meredith Raines, Megan and Savannah Raines, Renee Higdon, Aleshia Rininger, Tyler Hobbs, Layla and Jacob Clark, Cobey Raines, Olivia Raines, Joseph Snodderly

Great-Grandchildren: Reagan Raines, Jackson and Cooper Higdon, Ava Poff, Bella Kate Smith, Oliver Atkins, Cooper James Meeks, Forest Clark, Beckett Travis

Brothers: Bobby and Vera Ellen Raines, Esco and Penny Raines

Sisters: Wilma Peterson, Henrietta and Calvin Patterson,

Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends 10-12 Noon Saturday August 24th at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Cumberland View Cemetery for Graveside Service and Interment, Rev. J. J. Patterson officiating. Military Honors to be given by Honor Guard of Campbell County.
