Rachel “Dazz” Davis, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away far too soon at the age of thirteen. Born December 16, 2011, Rachel was a bright, creative soul whose presence left an unmistakable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Kind, insightful, and endlessly imaginative, Rachel expressed herself through her art, her style, and the vibrant way she moved through the world. She loved drawing, crafting beads and kandi, and losing herself in stories. Her passion for music blossomed in band, where she proudly played percussion, and she treasured exploring new worlds through her favorite video games.

Rachel is deeply loved by her father, Lucas Davis, and stepmother, Erin Seto; her aunts, Jessica Davis-Casteel and Sonya Duncan, and uncle, Andrew Casteel; her aunt, Traci Davis; and her Papaw, Paul Davis Jr. Rachel was preceded in death by her beloved Gran, Angelia Davis.

She is also cherished by her mother, Meagan Loy, and stepfather, Andy Loy; her half-sister, Emma; her half-brother, Elias; her Uncle, Jonas Grayson; her Pappy and Granna, Kenneth and Sherrie Sprouse; her Mimi and Papaw, Teresa and Keith Grayson.

Rachel’s light continues on in the memories of those who loved her—through her art, her laughter, her compassion, and the many small joys she brought into the lives of others.

With love and care, the family wishes to gently remind our community of the importance of suicide awareness and prevention. No one should ever feel they must face their darkest moments alone. Reach out. Ask. Listen. Hold space. We can carry one another.

“Even on the days when the world feels unbearable, your story is not over. Someone needs your tomorrow.”

1 Peter 5:7

“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests supporting a local mental health organization—such as the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation—or donating supplies to Lake City Middle School or the Rocky Top Public Library. Sharing with others in Rachel’s memory would be a deeply meaningful tribute.
