JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – We’ve all had that teacher who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute one of our hard working educators with a weekly feature. Teachers make a difference in their students lives each and every day. For many students, having a teacher who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation.

This week’s featured teacher is Rachael Teague. She teaches environmental science and agriscience at Campbell County High School.

This is her third-year teaching in Campbell County.  She also helps with the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and is an advisor. Teague is from Campbell County and has “lived here her whole life.”\

Rachael Teague is Eagle Tire Pros Teacher of the Week. She teaches at Campbell County High School.

“I got my associates degree at Roane State here in town. I then went on to Tennessee Tech University and got my bachelor’s in agriculture education,” Teague said. She also has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Tennessee Tech.

According to Teague, she did not always want to be a teacher, but “discovered” it when she went through the FFA program at CCHS. Her experiences with the program and with her ag advisor helped influence her choice.

“My career in education was inspired by my agriculture teacher, Eric Reynolds. It’s an honor to work with him and Mr. Nathaniel Morton. They keep me going every week to stay motivated and inspired for my students. My favorite part about my job is the students and how fun they are, and also getting to see them learn hands-on about science and agriculture. I have the best job!” Teague said.

She also shared that being an Agriculture Teacher/Advisor is one of the “greatest accomplishments” she feels like she has achieved.

“It’s like being pulled one million ways at once, but then reaping the rewards from all the hard work. This makes it worth it, even with all the stress. It’s amazing and brings me so much joy to see students succeed while being in the FFA.”

Every Thursday, WLAF’s Charlotte Underwood features the WLAF – Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. That educator also receives a free oil change from Eagle Tire Pros.
