CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- Educators make a difference in students’ lives every day. For many students, having a school employee who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that teacher, or school employee who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hardworking educators with a weekly feature.
Rachael Teague is Eagle Tire Pros Educator of the week. She teaches Agriculture Science and Environmental and Natural Resources Management.

This is her sixth year teaching in Campbell County. She also helps with the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and is an advisor. Teague is from Campbell County and has “lived here her whole life.†Teague is a 2015 CCHS graduate.
“I got my associates degree at Roane State here in town. I then went on to Tennessee Tech University and got my bachelor’s in agriculture education,†Teague said. She also has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Tennessee Tech.
According to Teague, she did not always want to be a teacher, but “discovered†it when she went through the FFA program at CCHS. Her experiences with the program and with her ag advisor helped influence her choice.
“My career in education was inspired by my agriculture teacher, Eric Reynolds. It’s an honor to work with him and Mr. Nathaniel Morton. They keep me going every week to stay motivated and inspired for my students. My favorite part about my job is the students and how fun they are and also getting to see them learn hands-on about science and agriculture. I have the best job,†Teague said.
She also shared that being an Agriculture Teacher/Advisor is one of the “greatest accomplishments†she feels like she has achieved.
“It’s like being pulled one million ways at once but then reaping the rewards from all the hard work. This makes it worth it, even with all the stress. It’s amazing and brings me so much joy to see students succeed while being in the FFA.â€

Teague said she had several teachers while she was in school that inspired her including Ms. Patti Keep and Mrs. Tammy Teague.
It was Eric Reynolds, her ag teacher in high school that inspired her to specifically teach Agriculture Science.
Her favorite part of the job is “being around the kidsâ€
“I love teaching them and getting to know them and invest in their lives. Every student should feel valued and important by their teachers,†Teague said.
Another favorite of her job is working at CCHS, the same school she graduated from.
“I enjoy the admin and the staff; we support each other and enjoy helping each other. The admin is great here and this is my dream job.â€
