Thursday afternoon truck fire triggers more fire

CCRFS Firefighters quickly extinguished a truck fire that started a brush fire north of La Follette.

PEABODY, TN (WLAF)- At 3:05pm Thursday, Campbell County Rural Fire Service Firefighters were dispatched to South Hwy 25W near the Peabody Cemetery turnoff.

Dry and windy conditions presented an extra challenge for CCRFS Firefighters on Thursday afternoon.

It was on the report of a truck on fire. When crews arrived, they found one truck on fire and fire spreading into the woods. Both fires were quickly extinguished.

Two occupants in the truck were treated on-scene by firefighters and EMS personnel. Each person refused to be transported to the hospital.

This truck fire was on the southbound side of Highway 25W, just north of the railroad underpass.
