Mrs. Phyllis Jewell “Elaine” (Buttram) Johnson, age 71 of LaFollette passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. She attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church and was employed with Powell Valley Foods for many years. Elaine loved attending church, visiting with her family, and working in her yard. Preceded in death by Daughter, Wendy Wright, Parents, Louie and Zela (Dobbs) Buttram, Sisters, Gertie Ward and Virginia Rogers, and Brother, Eddie Buttram.

She is survived by Husband of 35 years, Joe Johnson; Daughter, Candie Wright; Stepdaughter, Robbin Kitts; Stepson, Joe Johnson, II (Gaylynn Wolfe); Granddaughter, Madilyn Kitts; Brothers, Willie Buttram and Darryl Buttram; Sisters, Judy Rogen and Kathy Hyder; Brothers-in-law, Jim Johnson (Bernadine) and Gene Johnson (Linda); Sister-in-law, Linda Johnson; Special caregivers and friends, Glenna and Johnny Ball. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 7:00 PM at Grace Missionary Baptist Church (205 N. Tennessee Ave., LaFollette) with Rev. Bryan Patty officiating. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Phyllis Jewell “Elaine” (Buttram) Johnson.
