Early voting for May Primary election runs Wed., April 15- Thu., April 30, 2026

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- The window that opened on December 22 for candidates to request a petition to run for office in 2026 closed at noon Thursday. As a result, the ballot for the May primary is set with a partially set August ballot. The total count of petitions requested ended up at 73 with 51 of those being filed with the Election Commission Office.

The following county position term limits are up for election in 2026:

  • County Mayor
  • County Clerk
  • County Commission, three (3) per district, there are five (5) districts
  • County Attorney
  • Circuit Court Clerk
  • County Trustee
  • Register of Deeds
  • Sheriff
  • School Board Member, one (1) per district, there are five (5) districts
  • Constable, one (1) per district, there are five (5) districts
