‘We’ve surpassed our enrollment record’- TCAT President Dr. Debbie Petree

Additional parking is on the way for TCAT.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “We have a record enrollment this fall at more than 500 students,” said TCAT President Dr. Debbie Petree. The old record of 470 was easily surpassed as Petree awaits the final numbers that are north of 500.

Once the construction of the new campus began earlier this year, parking spots dramatically dwindled, and additional parking was created on the front side of campus.

“We’re going to add another gravel parking lot,” said Petree.

Here’s how TCAT’s new Building A looked at the end of last week.

September classes began last Tuesday with one late student being added on Thursday. A Nursing Aid Class starts this morning. “It’s short-term class,” said Petree.

Building B, longer than a football field, is showing signs of progress.

Sure you can apply online with TCAT. However, TCAT Jacksboro is still small enough (and personal enough) to welcome walk-ins. “Out staff is so great and is always happy to tour a new or prospective student,” said Petree.

As of last Tuesday’s meeting on the progress of the new TCAT campus, the project is still on track to be completed by September 2026, according to Petree. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-09/08/2025-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
