LUB crew repair water line break in Downtown La Follette

Closed businesses were the only LUB water customers without water for several hours on Sunday.
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Friendly fire created a problem for an LUB water crew early on Sunday morning. As a large dozer, part of the railroad repair equipment, turned up North Tennessee Avenue, it shoved a valve down and broke the valve made of cast iron, according to one LUB official.

The water valve on the left was shoved down and broken creating the water outage.
Since 7:30am Sunday, a trio if men from La Follette Utilities Board (LUB) have been working to repair the break. “All the water is out on this north side of Central Avenue, and it’s all businesses that are not open today,” said Ronald McGhee, veteran LUB Water Department employee.

McGhee estimates the project will be completed by early Sunday afternoon.
