Traffic was backed up for a while on I-75 Wednesday evening

RIDGEWOOD, TN (WLAF)- There was a two vehicle wreck with injury just after 6pm Wednesday. It happened short of the Old Mill Road Bridge that spans I-75.
A sedan and an 18-wheeler wrecked on I-75 at mile marker 131 on the northbound side near the old weigh station.
The driver of the sedan suffered injuries and was transported by Campbell County EMS to the ball field at Rocky Top (Lake City). That’s where the patient was airlifted by way of a medical helicopter.

The rig was hauling a plastic pellet material that was released onto the interstate after impact with the car, according to Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dylan Roach.
