First meeting between the Cougars and Dragons since January 2021

CLINTON, TN (WLAF)- When I think of Clinton Basketball, memories of Jumpin’ Jay Nidiffer, Cleve Nichols and the legendary Donnie Lockard, a Campbell County native, come to mind. When thinking of those coaches, Ron Murray, Jerry Dagley and Jimmy Pierce (as a player and a head coach) come to mind, too. It was quite the rivalry when Clinton and La Follette used to play. All these decades later, after a brief hiatus in scheduling with the Dragons moving to 3-A, the rivalry heats back up tonight between Clinton and Campbell County High Schools.

It’s been almost four years since basketball rivals Campbell and Clinton met up on the hardwood, and the wait is almost over. Campbell visits Don Lockard Gym tonight renewing the rivalry.

The Lady Cougars take a 5 & 0 worksheet to face 0 & 3 Clinton while the Cougars at 3 & 2 square off with 4 & 2 Clinton.

Clayton Carroll with the Lady Cougars and Josh Parker with the Cougars send you the action beginning at 5:50pm over the WLAF Doyle’s Tire Sports Network which consists of AM 1450, FM 100.9, TV Channel 1089, 1450wlaf.com, YouTube, Facebook, Amazon Fire TV, Alexa, Roku TV, and Twitch.
