The fire call came in at 9:04 on Friday morning

The structure was fully involved when firefighters arrived.

MORLEY, TN (WLAF)- Firefighters with the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department were paged out at 9:04 Friday morning on the call of a structure fire on Highway 25W at Morley. “When firefighters arrived, the fire was already through the roof,” said WOVFD Chief Jimmy Pack.

The building, a wooden structure, is located where Highway 90 intersects with Highway 25W on the side of the road where the Morley Post Office once sat. That’s seven miles south of Jellico.

There were no injuries.

“We were concerned about the structure, but all the vegetation around the building, especially the Cudzoo, was of great concern as well,” said Chief Pack.

The Jellico Rescue Squad Fire Units were called in for mutual aid. Campbell EMS and Sheriff’s Office also responded.

The thick billowing smoke could be seen for miles.

A fire crew has remained on the scene for hours to be certain the fire is totally extinguished. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-09/19/2025-NOON-PHOTOS COURTESY OF CHIEF PACK)
