La Follette Police Officers complete Walters State Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy

MORRISTOWN, TN (WLAF)- “All three are going to be great officers,” said La Follette Police Captain Charles Duff. The captain is talking about the LPD officers who graduated from the Walters State Community College Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy on Thursday morning inside the Dr. Jack E. Campbell College Center on the Morristown Campus.

The graduates are Kyle Figueroa, Clinton Hutchinson and Steve Wilson. It’s expected that the trio will become full time officers with the LPD in the near future. The graduates began their journey through the academy at the Greeneville campus on July 21 and received their diplomas on Sept. 18.

Out of a class of 55 graduates, Hutchinson earned the Defensive and Tactical Driving Award. Wilson scored a perfect 150 in the physical fitness portion of training, and as a result, he was awarded the Best Athlete award.

This was graduating class number 137, and the course covered nine-weeks. “I am very proud of all three officers and thankful for the representation to the police department that these three guys portrayed during their time at the Police Academy,” said Duff.
