LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A westbound vehicle on General Carl Stiner Highway caught the eye of Campbell Sheriff’s Corporal Joel Boyer on Friday night, because one of the vehicle’s headlights was not working. As a result, the corporal initiated a traffic stop near the La Follette Middle School.

As soon as the corporal made contact with the driver of the car, 40-year old Joshua Britt of La Follette (CORRECTION: 121 Oriole Lane-Speedwell), Britt told the officer that his driver’s license was suspended, according to the report. Britt allegedly voluntarily disclosed that a grinder and pipe were located in the center console of the car. A further check from Central Dispatch revealed that Britt was a wanted man on a violation of probation warrant. Upon learning that, Corporal Boyer placed Britt under arrest.

A green leafy substance weighing 5.46 grams was recovered from this grinder.

Britt was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, driving on a revoked/suspended license and violation of probation. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/23/2024-6AM)
