You’ll likely be ordering your favorites from McDonald’s by sometime in the fall of 2025

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- It was Monday morning, and McDonald’s construction superintendent Rex Adams was on the job, making his way all around the building site.
Adams is busy working with electricians, carpenters, heavy equipment operators and more. You may have noticed how fast things are moving along on the outside. Well, that’s just part of it.
Let’s take a quick look at the inside.
This photo shows the after hours walk up window, and this will also be the pick up window for food delivery services. It’s located on the South 5th street end of the building.
Standing in the dining area looking at the walk up counter, Rex Adams, in his signature floppy hat, is in the center of what would be behind the counter.
This is a look at the kitchen and prep area, and the left wall is the back side of the building.
The two openings are part of the drive thru, and the distant opening is the pay window and the closest one is the food pickup.
The unfinished stud wall divides the storage area with the cold storage just on the far side of the stud wall.
The pay window is on the back wall on the First Baptist Church end.
This is an aerial view of the new McDonald’s. The drive up menu board to place your order will be on the other end, the First Baptist Church side. The pick up will be on the back side of the building, that’s the left side in this photo, the Ridgeview Behavioral Services side.
This view is of the main front entrance, right side of building, and is facing West Central Avenue. The after hours walk up window is on the left side of the image facing South 5th Street and Main Street Shell.
Adams is the one guy on the job site that you never know where he’ll come from or in some cases what he’ll be operating. So to make life easy, I look for Adams’ bright orange long sleeve shirt, his floppy hat and dark sunglasses, and don’t forget his cell phone/camera/computer strapped to his hip.
When all this comes together, you’ve found Rex Adams. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-08/12/2025-6AM)

Fall of 2025?!?! In first world countries these things go up in half a year. I watched a BK get built in Seoul in three months from groundbreaking to first customer. That was in 1996. It’s still in operation and the building is in pristine condition. Way too many government hoops to jump through to do a thing like that in this country – and I’ll probably outlive the building! What would our great American ancestors think of our “progress?”
