LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Last week was EMS Week all across the country, and it was celebrated right here at home as well. May 23 marked the sixth year Tennova La Follette Medical Center showed its appreciation to EMS, fire and police with a luncheon. However, with the heavy rain and storms that day, the luncheon to have been held at Seargeant’s Park was changed up with medical center personnel delivering meals through the day to EMS, police and fire.

“It’s a pleasure to honor our partners in taking care of the community. They are a large part of our better health, better living as much as any part of our team,” said Mark Cain, Tennova La Follette Medical Center CEO.

Assistant La Follette Fire Chief Keith Fraley, left, is with Captain Daniel Lawson with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service. Lawson also serves with LFD, EMS and EMA.

“This year, as we recognize the 50th anniversary of the first National EMS Week, we honor those who came before the teams we work with now, especially those who challenged the status quo and raised the bar for everyone. At the same time, we look forward, committing ourselves to forge a future of strong relationships with the current and next generations of EMS professionals that serve our communities,” said Cain.

Sheriff Wayne Barton, Sgt. Nikki Wells, Master Sgt. Catie Wilson, Angie Worley with the front office, and Sgt. Heather Ray are representing the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

“We love our EMS teams and appreciated the opportunity to deliver them lunch throughout the day. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!, said Amanda Rogers, Director of Physician Outreach. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/30/2024-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF AMANDA ROGERS)
