Demory Road was closed for the better part of 90-minutes early Friday

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- At 3:31am Friday is when the call of a single-vehicle wreck hitting a power pole came in to Central Dispatch. That wreck closed Demory Road, just south of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, and knocked out power to LUB customers in the immediate area.
The driver, a male and only occupant, of an older model Ford Mustang walked away, shaken, but apparently uninjured after refusing care from Campbell County EMS first responders, according to officials.
The Mustang hit a power pole and then landed on its top on Demory Road blocking both lanes. The mishap occurred between the Cedar Hill Baptist Church and the White Bridge.

As a result, Demory Road was closed for about an hour and a half with 18 LUB customers being without power for the same amount of time. The power pole did not need to be replaced, according to one person at the scene.
Responding agencies include EMS, Campbell County Rural Fire Service, the Sheriff’s Office and an LUB crew.
Demory Road was reopened at 4:53am, and the power was restored minutes before crews cleared the scene. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/03/2025-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF CCRFS CAPTAIN DANIEL LAWSON)
