Fraterville Mine Disaster happened on May 19, 1902
ROCKY TOP, TN (WLAF) – Take a trip back in time on Saturday at the Coal Creek Miners Museum during the Miners Memorial. That’s tomorrow from 11am until 2pm.
Come along for a day of remembering, learning, having fun and enjoying good food and fellowship. It’s your chance to tour the museum and learn more about the Coal Creek War, the Cross Mountain Mine Disaster and the convict lease system that shook the Coal Creek area.
The more than 200 miners who lost their lives in the 1902 Fraterville Mine Disaster will be remembered.
