‘I received a sign from the good Lord that I’m going to run for re-election next year’- Jeffrey Miller

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Current chairman of the board and two term member of the Campbell County Board of Education Jeffrey Miller announced live on WLAF AM & FM on Friday morning that he plans to seek a third term.
For months, Miller has been torn on whether or not to run again. However, on Sunday, there was a sign, and all doubt was removed for him to run in 2026.
On September 3, 2022, days after Miller was elected to a second term, he was eating with his mother at the Rainbow Restaurant. “Knowing how difficult it is to run and then serve, she asked me if I would not run again. I promised her I would not seek another term,” said Miller.
His mother passed away that night. “My mom was my life,” said Miller.
That promise and the fact so many people were encouraging him to run again weighed on him for three years.
Last Sunday, Miller was checking on his farm at Doaks Creek. He had pulled up close to a large culvert where a couple of women were watching their children play. Miller walked around his truck to get something when one of the little boys pointed up to him and said “I know you”. “I know when you come to my school, you make good things happen,” said the boy. Miller took the youngster’s words to heart.
“I think that was a sign from the good Lord. I had been weighing that, and the leadership is needed in this moment in time. I just hope the people can support me one more time and let me finish what we’ve started. I look forward to the election,” said Miller. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/07/2025-1PM-PAID)
