McCoy appointed as director of schools and interim director

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- In a unanimous vote last night, Charlotte McCoy was named Director of Campbell County Schools.

Lori Clemons was voted on first with Crystal Creekmore, Ronnie Lasley and Jamie Wheeler voting no. Lisa Fields, Randy Heatherly, Brandon Johnson and Brent Lester voted yes with Ryne Cummins and Board Chairman Jeffrey Miller abstaining. Sharon Ridenour wasn’t present.

McCoy then received a yes vote from every board member present.

Miller adjourned the meeting only to have to call everyone back into the courtroom.

The board had been advised by its attorney Dail Cantrell that an interim director needed to be appointed to sign funding paperwork due by Friday.

McCoy agreed to fill the role. She will be offered a contract for the director’s position at the May board of education meeting. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 4/8/2026-6AM)
