Darryl Chapman for sheriff, Jack Lynch for mayor visited at The Grand on Central Friday

WLAF listeners hear from sheriff’s candidate Darryl Chapman during the Trading Post. “We need a dramatic change in our sheriff’s department. As your sheriff, I will put drug dealers back in jail. Our deputies will patrol all of our communities from the Kentucky line to Anderson County and from the Scott County line to Claiborne County,” said Chapman.

Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch speaks with WLAF’s Jim Freeman on Friday morning. “The mission is not complete. There is more work to be done. United Rare Earths is one of the projects in the works. LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The WLAF candidates forum is set for early March, and last Friday’s candidates breakfast featured comments from over 30 candidates live over WLAF Radio offering a taste of what’s to come at the forum. Major office candidates, Darryl Chapman for sheriff and incumbent Jack Lynch for mayor were among Friday’s guests.

On March 10, at 7pm, at the former West LaFollette School, the public can hear from a host of candidates seeking office in 2026.

The forum is open to the public while also being broadcast live over WLAF Radio AM 1450 and FM 100.9, Amazon Alexa and televised live over WLAF-TV 1089 (Comcast-Xfinity), 1450wlaf.com. YouTube, Roku TV, Amazon Firestick, Amazon Alexa Smart Speaker, Facebook and Twitch.TV.

The mayor and sheriff races will be featured. Each candidate will have time for opening and closing comments. In between, mayor and sheriff candidates will be asked questions.

Starting the evening, candidates from other races will be given two minutes to introduce themselves to the audience. They will not take questions nor be asked questions by the moderators. They will have introductory time only. To take part in this portion of the program, candidates must RSVP by March 6 at 4pm. Space in this section is limited.
