Mary Bratcher, age 85 of Jacksboro, entered her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Cumberland Village surrounded by her family. She was born on March 30, 1939, to the late Frank Bowman and Birdie (Riggs) Bowman. Mary was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, cooking, working puzzle books, and watching Soap Operas, but what she loved most was her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Ernest Bratcher; grandson Blake Bratcher; brothers Everett (Lefty) Bowman and Bob Bowman; sisters Mildred Norman, Elizabeth Thompson and Willene McGhee; stepsons Tommie and Donnie Bratcher; and son-in-law Jim Searcy.
Mary is survived by her children Danny Bratcher and wife Belinda of Speedwell, Jeff Bratcher and wife Melinda of Jacksboro, and Becky Searcy and Rodney Heatherly of Jacksboro; grandchildren Daniel Bratcher, Summer Bratcher, Wendy and Michael McFall, Josh and Alisha Bratcher, Derek Bratcher, Heather Bratcher, Marissa Bratcher, and Gregory Searcy; 9 great grandchildren plus a very special one named “Beckett” that was born on the day of her home going to heaven; sisters Christine Bagwell of LaFollette and Pat Shepard of LaFollette; stepdaughter-in-law Vonnie Bratcher of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Derrick Hembree and Rev. Bill Braden officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM interment.
