Marginal risk of isolated severe thunderstorms possible but limited in coverage, intensity, duration
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Expect a Tuesday of partly sunny and breezy conditions with a high of 75. Two rounds of showers and thunderstorms will impact Campbell County and the region today, with possibly stronger thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. This will persist into Wednesday.
Some of these storms could be strong to possibly severe, mainly over the Plateau and southeast Tennessee. A marginal severe threat can be expected with hail up to one inch and strong, damaging thunderstorm wind gusts near 50 mph. A low-end tornado threat can also not be totally ruled out.
Rain and storm chances diminish after lunch on Wednesday into Wednesday evening. Thursday brings the nicest day of the week with sunshine and a high near 80. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/14/2024-6AM)
