‘It’s dope’- Robert Morgan

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The City of La Follette’s restriction on camping within the city limits was the first step toward jail for a vagrant located by police late Sunday night.

On Aug. 17, at 11:18pm, La Follette Police Officer Aidyn Fudala was conducting a routine patrol of Lindsay’s Warehouse at 136 North 1st Street. The officer observed a male laying down on a pallet located behind some bushes, according to the police report. “Due to the restriction on camping within the city limits, I ordered the male out of the bushes,” Patrolman Fudala stated.

The name of the man Officer Fudala flushed out is Robert Morgan, and Morgan gave the officer permission to search him. Morgan told the policeman that he didn’t have anything he should not have, based on the report.

During the search, police found a small plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance in Morgan’s pocket, according to the LPD report. Morgan was then detained and placed inside the police cruiser. “Dope” is what Morgan allegedly said when Officer Fudala asked him what was the substance that was in Morgan’s pocket.

When asked by Officer Fudala if police will find anything else when they investigate the campsite, Morgan allegedly said that a pipe would be located. A pipe was found at the campsite within reach of where Morgan was discovered, based on the police report.

Robert Andrew Morgan, 34, homeless, La Follette was charged with schedule II possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-08/20/2025-6AM)
