LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Looking for something fun to do to get out of the house and get rid of that cabin fever? Check out LaFollette’s Indoor Multi-Sport Complex! It is located at 100 South 5th Street behind the Main Street Shell in downtown LaFollette, across from McDonald’s. According to LaFollette’s Park and Recreation Director Chris Smith, the sports complex has “something for everyone.”

The building is rentable for birthday parties and other events, but some of the options in the sports complex are free and can be enjoyed without renting.
The city officially opened the sports complex on October 1, 2024, and is in the process of expanding with some additional outdoor activities. Smith said he wants to get the word out that there is stuff to do in LaFollette and that some people may not even realize the sports complex is there or what all is available.

Currently the indoor sports complex offers two batting cages, one for softball and one for baseball, a state-of-the-art golf simulator, a pool table, a basketball arcade, claw machine arcades, and a ping pong table.
“I still have people learn about it and say they had no idea it was here. We are in the process of expanding outside to include a pickleball court and a half-court basketball court,” Smith said.

He is in the process of getting the area fenced off right now, and afterwards, “sometime in spring”, the pickleball and half-court basketball court should be up and running.
“We have two pickle ball courts down below at Liberty Park, but they are shared with the tennis courts. So, now folks will have a dedicated pickleball court; Pickleball is getting popular,” Smith said.
The idea behind the multi-sports complex is to “have something for everyone, with activities the whole family can enjoy.”

“The more stuff we can provide and the variety of it, the better. We want to have something for everyone, and while the batting cages, golf simulator and arcades cost to play, the inside ping pong table is free and the outdoor pickleball court and outdoor basketball court will be free as well,” Smith said. The arcade games and the pool table take quarters, while the golf simulator and batting cages have a flat rate charge.
The golf simulator is $20 for 30 minutes or $36 for an hour, while the batting cages cost $10 per 30 minutes per person or $15 per hour per person.

The entire complex can also be rented out for birthday parties and other celebration events at a rate of $100 for two hours. According to Smith, should anyone stop by the sports complex and the door is locked, the number, 423.562.7900, is posted outside on the building, if you call, then the building will be unlocked. There are also options to rent the building without the golf simulator and options to rent it with the simulator. For birthday parties, the building can be rented and reserved, and they will get the entire building, but there is an additional $50 to rent the building with the golf simulator.

To reserve the batting cages or the golf simulator or to reserve the entire building for parties, call 423.562.7900 or 423.562.9424.
“Bring the family down, we truly have something for the whole family,” Smith said.
