A NOTE FROM THE GRAND ON CENTRAL: “There is so much good going on in our community, and I want to share all this good with you every Monday here on WLAF in hopes that you will start your week in a grand way making each week a Grand Week,” said Olivia Lobertini, owner of The Grand on Central.
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The Run for the Future 5K race sponsored by ReFuel IV recently raised $2,800 for the Boys and Girls Club of Campbell County.
According to race organizers, this is the first of what will become an annual fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Campbell County.
The race started at 8 am at Campbell County High School on Saturday, July 19 and had “a good turnout of about 30 runners” that competed.
The 3.2-mile race began at the high school “on the LaFollette side parking lot.” Runners then ran down by the fire station, and then down East Memorial Drive, back out Towe String Road and all the way around Woodson’s Mall and the back up the four-lane highway back to the high school to finish on the football field.

First place Female was Abby Cardwell and First place Male was Brady Hatmaker, according to Timmy Zupancic, co-owner of ReFuel IV which sponsored the event.
ReFuel IV is also owned by Raewyn Snodderly and Rissa Pryse of Terry’s Pharmacy.
ReFuel IV officials said they plan to hold the event yearly and the hope is it will expand and grow to continue supporting the club.
According to Zupancic, the event went well, with great support from the community.
“This is just year one. We know that after the Boys and Girls Club gets open, they are always going to need funds, so we want to do this yearly and for this event to grow and help our Boys and Girls Club as it grows in our community,” Zupancic said.

He said the hope was for the event to grow to have vendors, food trucks and other activities to make it a “yearly family event”.
“We hope to, as a team, for ReFuel IV and the Boys and Girls Club, to make this a yearly event and after the club gets open, we will come out to do talks to the kids about health and fitness and stuff like that,” Zupancic said.
Zupancic also said he wanted to extend a big thank you to the whole Campbell County Boys and Girls Club team who came out, as well as members of the Anderson County Boys and Girls Club who also came out for the event.
