JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Educators make a difference in students’ lives every day. For many students, having a school employee who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that teacher, or school employee who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hardworking educators with a weekly feature.
Mackenzie Brown is Eagle Tire Pros Educator of the Week. She teaches fifth grade English Language Arts at Jacksboro Elementary School.
Brown said she was “honored and grateful to be nominated as teacher of the week!”
“I grew up in Campbell County, and I am proud to be teaching in the county in which I was raised,” Brown said.

She attended Christian Academy for her elementary grades, Jacksboro Middle School, and graduated from Campbell County High School before continuing her education at Lincoln Memorial University to earn a bachelor’s degree and later pursued a master’s degree at Western Governor’s University.
She said she followed a career in education because of her teachers and her own experiences as a student.
“Every step toward my decision to pursue a career in education has been shaped by the teachers, staff, and administrators who believed in me before I fully believed in myself. Their dedication taught me that being an educator means being a mentor, an advocate, and a source of stability. Because of the impact they had on my life, I want to give future students the same support, inspiration, and sense of belonging,” Brown said.
She teaches fifth-grade ELA at Jacksboro Elementary School and is in her fifth year of teaching, and her third teaching fifth grade, after previously teaching first grade for two years.
“From playing “teacher” at a very young age, I always knew my heart and passion lay in working with students and teaching them. My family and friends have also played a powerful role in inspiring my path toward education. They have always encouraged my love for learning and reminded me of my ability to make a difference,” Brown said.

Her favorite part about her job is “pouring into the students every day and watching them grow! I love to watch students get excited about learning and become passionate about what they are doing. I strive to empower students with the confidence and determination to achieve anything they set their mind to!”, Brown said.
Another favorite aspect of her job is where and who she works with.
“Working at Jacksboro Elementary has been such a blessing to me. I work with such a determined and dedicated fifth-grade team that is both inspiring and impactful. They have grown into becoming my family! Both administration and staff share the same goal of inspiring students toward success. Everyone shares a love for the students and always puts them first, and that is why I love teaching at Jacksboro Elementary!”
