LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – LaFollette Utility Board members heard an update regarding the search for a general manager for the utility during Monday’s workshop meeting. Long-time manager Kenny Baird announced his retirement last month, and the search began immediately for a replacement.

Interim General Manager Regina Kennedy told board members that the position was being advertised on multiple platforms including the Tennessee Electric Cooperative, the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TPPA) and several others. The position is also posted internally.

The TPPA is assisting LUB with the GM search.

“They will screen the applicants. We asked for no more than four finalists. They will also do the background checks,” Kennedy told board members.

The advertisement for the LUB GM position closes at 5 pm on Monday, July 8.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/25/2024-6AM)
