LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Last night, the LaFollette Utilities Board decided how it would search for a new general manager.

The Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA) will conduct the initial search. It will handle everything from job posting to narrowing down a field of candidates for the local board to interview. The local board will then select who it will hire to run the utility. The expected cost of the TVPPA’s assistance is $10,000.

Keith Atkins will act as the interim general manager. He is the engineer for LUB and will retain those duties as well as acting as GM. His pay rate will go up 6.24 percent. Atkins currently makes $77.07 an hour with his new temporary hourly pay going to $81.88.

Regina Kennedy, who is leaving LUB after stepping down earlier this month as GM, addressed the board.

” I have had a wonderful journey over the last 38 years. I am going to miss everyone,” she said. “It has been an honor and a pleasure to work here.”(WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 3/31/2026-6AM)
