Louise Day, age 95 of Clinton

Louise Day, age 95 of Clinton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 18, 2025. She was born on November 14, 1930, to the late Lawrence Gaylor and Bessie (McCulley) Ballard. Louise was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Clinton, and enjoyed sewing, flowers, cooking, and horseback riding.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Elmer Day; sister Opal Green; and son-in-law Donnie Woods.

Louise is survived by her loving daughter and care giver Shirley Woods of Clinton; sons Herschel Day and wife Kaffey of Knoxville and Jerry Day and wife Linda Day of Rocky Top; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren’ and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with her son Rev. Jerry Day officiating. Internment to follow the funeral service at Bakers Forge Cemetery.
