LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Local baker Raegan Marsee is competing in an international baking competition with voting starting at 1 pm, November 27th.

Marsee runs Love Always Bakery, from home, making gourmet cheesecakes and more in honor of her grandmother who inspired her to bake.

The international competition is The Greatest Baker by Pastry chef and TV personality Buddy Valastro, better known as the “Cake Boss.”

It is an online competition and Marsee needs her community’s help to win! The first round of voting goes live today, November 27th at 1pm, and runs till December 7th. To vote, visit HERE.

If Marsee wins the competition, she could earn $10,000 plus a chance to be featured in Bake from Scratch Magazine and to meet Buddy Valastro.

Marsee is a recent CCHS graduate who is bow studying Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship at MTSU, while running her home baking business Love Always Bakery.

She “just so happened to see the competition advertisement on the Greatest Baker’s page and took a leap of faith and decided to enter!”

As the competition narrows down, voting will continue. If Marsee makes the top 20, it will then go to the top 15. Voting runs December 7th through December 14th for that.

The top ten will be narrowed down through public voting Dec. 14 through Dec. 21st. Top five voting begins December 21st and closes Dec. 28th, while group finals begin Dec. 28th through January 4th. The wildcard round runs January 5th and ends January 7th.

“I am so thankful to be a part of this as it will open many new doors for me and my small business!” Marsee said.

She opened her Bakery in December of 2021, but she’s been baking and creating for roughly 15 years.

She grew up having bake off competitions with her sister, baking with family members, and constantly watching cooking shows, then trying to bake or cook just as good as the food network stars!

“I started my business in December of 2021, and have been loving every second of working with my customers, creating quality products, and being able to have creative freedom in the kitchen!” Marsee said.

She mainly cooked with her grandmother Ruth who unfortunately passed in early 2022. Marsee wanted to honor her grandmother and their tradition of baking together, which is how she came up with the name of her business.

“I named my business “Love Always Bakery,” this name is something very close to my heart as “Love always” was something constantly said by my grandmother Ruth… I try to always bring love into my community, my baked goods, family, and friends,” Marsee said.

She is also a college student at MTSU studying Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and said she hopes to use her future degree to grow her business knowledge, continue to grow her current business, and potentially create new businesses.

She currently operates her business entirely online through Facebook and Instagram @LoveAlwaysBakery.
