CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Leadership Class participated in “education day” on Thursday, learning about the” abundant education opportunities” in the county.

Leadership Class members toured TCAT Jacksboro’s Criminal Justice class located inside Woodson’s Mall, before heading down to the TCAT Jacksboro main campus for a tour and presentation from campus president Debbie Petree.


TCAT President Debbie Petree addressed Leadership Class participants on Thursday, sharing the exciting news that the technical college will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony for its new facilities on Dec. 4th.

She shared the exciting news that TCAT Jacksboro is going to break ground on its new facilities on December 4th, which will double the size of the technical college.  Leadership class participants also took a tour of the technical college which offers a wide range of programs from Automotive Repair to Cosmetology, HVAC and more.

Campbell County School Director Jennifer Fields spoke to leadership class members, who also had lunch provided on Thursday by the Campbell County Cafeteria Staff.

Leadership Class members were then served a “delicious Thanksgiving lunch” that was prepared by the Campbell County Cafeteria staff. School Director Jennifer Fields spoke to the class about the continuous improvements and “excellent work” in our Campbell County Public Schools.

Roane State Community College was also a stop for Education Day, with class members hearing from Campbell County’s campus Director Sharon Wilson.


Roane State Community College Director Sharon Wilson spoke to Leadership Campbell County members about the many opportunities Roane State’s Campbell County campus provides.

Roane State offers “affordable, quality higher education classes delivered in a small class setting close to home.” Whether a first-time student, dual enrollment student, or taking classes to advance in your career, Roane State offers a “variety of classes to complete your general education and learning support requirements.” Roane State offers more than 100 college credit courses per term. A variety of credit and non-credit courses are available during morning, afternoon and evening hours.

Both TCAT Jacksboro and Roane State Community College offer Financial Aid services, help with FAFSA, dual-enrollment class options and more.

Stephanie Lloyd Hester is the Administrative/Development Coordinator at the Campbell County Christian Learning Center. 

Class members also learned about the Campbell County Christian Learning Center, which “exists to provide Biblical instruction to students as an opportunity to encourage them to embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ, grow in the Christian faith, and apply biblical principles for living. Teacher Ronnie Miller, Stephanie Lloyd Hester, Administrative/Development Coordinator and Joy Longmire, Ministry Assistant were speakers for the day. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/25/2024-6AM)
