That special called meeting of the City of La Follette Regional Planning is today, December 22, at 3pm, at City Hall

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The monthly meeting for the LaFollette Planning Commission took place Wednesday afternoon at City Hall. There were two items on the agenda.

First, applicant John Fultz is seeking approval for a re-subdivision of property located on West Hemlock Street. Fultz had previously submitted mapping to divide the property into three lots but changed it to two lots instead. Fultz’s purchase of this property relies on the approval for subdivision. Fultz, according Codes Officer Stuart Hurwitz, is looking to place a double wide onto each lot. The codes officer recommended approval seeing as though there are no problems with setbacks.

Lastly, Johnny Byrge is looking for a street/alley closure at 901 West Kentucky Avenue. Codes Officer Hurwitz is unsure of what the applicant is really wanting. Due to a lack of information and no representative being present, the commission voted to table the issue.

The West Kentucky Avenue agenda item is the topic that has prompted a special called meeting of the City of La Follette Regional Planning Commission. That meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 22, at 3pm, at City Hall.

The subject property is located in a R-2 High Density Residential District.
