Last year the Town of Jacksboro passed an ordinance of no more new billboards

Messages for Hometown Flooring and the La Follette Church of God will soon be shown on this new billboard, according to an official with Huntington Billboards.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Town of Jacksboro has had the last billboard erected within the town limits. Early last week, the giant, bright yellow, board was posted high above the four lane.

Last week a billboard was erected near Eagle Mart along the four lane.

In July 2023, the Jacksboro Planning Commission voted to amend Ordinance 130 to prohibit billboards. In September 2023, the Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen passed the ordinance.

According to Mayor Shayne Green, the billboard that went up last week was approved prior to the ordinance being passed, and it will be the last billboard erected in the town. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/12/2024-6AM)
