KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Thursday night’s 63-51 loss to Central in the semifinals of the District 3-AAAA is ancient history for the Campbell County Lady Cougars in the post season where the theme is simply win and advance. “We’re looking forward to tonight’s game with Karns,” said Campbell Head Coach Jason Kitts.

Campbell takes on Karns in the third place game. Win or lose, both teams will move on to opening round games on Friday.

The perk from winning Thursday’s game with Central was that the winner will play its first region game, Fri., Feb. 27, at home. The loss puts the Lady Cougars on the road that night on a District 4 opponents home court likely Bearden or Farragut.

“It should be a fun game. There’s still a lot to play for, and we know we’ll need to be disciplined and consistent on both ends of the floor to win. Our focus is just to be patient and not to play out of the tempo we are comfortable with. Karns did a good job at Karns to speed us up, and it forced us in to bad shots,” said Coach Kitts.

Karns is 3 & 23 and was 1 & 9 during district play. Campbell won both meetings with Karns, 60-32 on Brown Court Dec. 9, and 42-38 on Henson Court- Jan. 20.
