OLIVER SPRINGS, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County, fresh off a 51-44 win against William Blount on Tuesday, traveled to Oliver Springs Thursday evening to battle the 1-A  Lady Bobcats.

To say the Lady Cougars started strong was a major understatement. Campbell County held Oliver Springs scoreless in the first quarter. The Lady Cougars led 25-0 after the first frame.

Campbell’s dominance on defense, assisted by sophomore point guard Jayden Kitts’s six first half steals, continued in the second quarter. At the half, it was the Orange-and-Blue on top of the Purple-and-Gold 35-8.

In the third and fourth quarters, it was all about spreading around the playing time among the Lady Cougars.

All 10 players that dressed for Campbell saw action, and Karlie Allen, Reagan Davis, and Destiny Rutheford scored their first points of the 2024-2025 season.

Campbell extended its lead to 40 points at the final buzzer, final score 52-12.

Tops in scoring for Campbell was Carley Kitts who tallied 12 points. Her sophomore sister Jayden scored 10 points. Both were Mills Doors and More players of the game.

Saylor Hutcheson totaled eight points. Lacey Pemberton contributed seven points.  Preslee Chapman tacked on four points. Bella Lester, Reagan Davis, and Destiny Rutherford all had three points a piece. Karlie Allen, varsity freshman, finished in the scorers’ column with two.

Up next for the Lady Cougars is the Gibbs Thanksgiving Tournament. Campbell will take on Carter on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.
