Tough challenge at Central for Lady Cougars to stay perfect in district

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Two of the top teams in District 3-AAAA clash tonight on the hardwood at Central High School, Campbell and Central. Campbell is coming off a 53-39 home win over Halls on Tuesday while Central fell at home in overtime to Powell on the same night, 61-56.

“We are excited to take the trip to Central. It should be a really good up tempo game,” said Lady Cougar Coach Jason Kitts.

Central brings a 9 & 7 worksheet into tonight’s contest along with a 2 & 1 district mark. Campbell is 6 & 5 and 2 & 0 in league contests.

“Central is a really good team, and they are playing really well right now. They are fast and athletic and put a ton of pressure on the ball. Central has a really good point guard that can score a lot of points, and she shoots really well from 3,” said Coach Kitts.

You can’t help but look ahead as the regular season district race begins taking shape. Because wins tonight for the Lady Cougars and for Powell at Karns would set up a showdown of the district’s only unbeaten teams when Campbell plays at Powell on Tue., Jan. 13.
